Between 10th and 14th of March 2008, one of the most prestigious food exhibitions in the world, ALIMENTARIA 2008, will take place in Barcelona.
At this year’s edition, on a total surface of about 130.000 sqm, closed space, almost 5000 companies from 70 countries like Belgium, Greece, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, USA, Argentina, Guatemala, Columbia, Panama, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Egypt, Tunisia, India, China, Thailand, etc. will exhibit their products. It is estimated that a number of 155.000 people will visit the exhibition, out of which 33.000 are food specialists.
In the 8 halls of the fair grounds the following products categories are exhibited: frozen products, drinks, cans, meat and meat products, dairy products, olive oil, fish, wines, sweets, fruits and vegetables, organic and ecologic products.
In the hall that was reserved for the national pavilions (with a total surface of about 9200 sqm), Romania had a national pavilion organized by the Romanian Ministry for Small and Medium Size Enterprises, Trade, Tourism and Liberal Professions, together with the Romanian Trade Promotiona Center and ROMALIMENTA.
On a surface of 294sqm, 17 Romanian companies (Agricola International, Boromir, Caroli Foods, Cramele Odobesti, Cramele Recas, Dobrogea Grup, European Drinks, European Food, Extracte Naturale Natex, Florelia, Kaviar House, Klevek Factory, Rommac Trade, Scandia, Scandic, Unicom Holding, Vascar) exhibited meat products, wines, bread and milling products, juices and mineral water, fish products, cans and cereals.
